Exumas

Surrounded by sapphire-blue water, the Exumas are an exotic collection of dreamy islands. Consisting of 365 cays, one for each day of the year, the region is filled with hidden beaches, ultra-luxurious resorts and flawless coastlines. Rich and diverse in history, the islands are split into three major areas – Great Exuma, Little Exuma, and The Exuma Cays. Each one offers its own exclusive experience. The former two are known for their relaxed and secluded surroundings while the latter attracts the world’s rich and famous. But the most well-known celebrity of the region remains the swimming pigs, found in Big Major Cay. These ‘domesticated’ animals enjoy swimming with visitors and sharing their food whenever possible.

Staniel Cay

Widely seen as the middle point in the Exumas archipelago, the beautiful cay is covered in colourful, charming and quaint cottages. The ideal picturesque, postcard island, it offers plenty of room for hiking. For those who love agent 007, be sure to visit Thunderball Grotto, the site where the 1965 James Bond movie was shot.

BIG MAJOR CAY

Celebrated for its native inhabitants, the ‘domesticated’ pigs of Big Major Cay are the islands favoured swimming companions. Back in the early 1990s, five baby pigs (four female and one male) were brought to the island. Since then the number has grown, and these sociable and lovable animals swim out to meet boats to be fed daily.

Nassau

The most well-known port in the Bahamas, Nassau, has lured in countless pirates and trade ships for centuries. A vibrant and colourful hub of activity and energy, it is home to several five-star marinas, world-class restaurants and bars as well as historical sites and museums.
