Luxury Italian yacht builder Sanlorenzo has been constructing some of the industry’s leading yachts and superyachts for over 60 years. Founded in 1958 by Gianfranco Cecchi and Giuliano Pecchia near Florence, Italy, Sanlorenzo specialises in building resin-infused fibreglass, aluminium and steel vessels between 23 and 72 metres. Sanlorenzo gained international attention in 1985 when it launched its first-ever fibreglass hull, the SL57, and has grown steadily since. The shipyard launched its first superyacht, the 31.7-metre SL100, in 1995 and formed a joint venture with Sundiro Holding to produce luxury yachts in China. Since then, Sanlorenzo has continued to expand internationally, working out of four facilities in Italy. A self-proclaimed boutique yacht firm, Sanlorenzo constructs a limited number of made-to-measure vessels each year.
