Founded in 1980 in Sydney, Australia, Riviera Yachts has established itself as one of the continent’s most innovative luxury yacht builders. With the launch of its inaugural model, the 38 MKI Riviera Yachts began carving a name for itself in the yachting industry. The yard’s relocation in 1981 to the Gold Coast in Queensland marked the start of Riviera Yachts’ ambitious growth, with a small, dedicated team of five crafting eight new boats in their first year there. The 1980s saw a rapid expansion for Riviera Yachts, as the yard designed, built, and launched a dozen new models, extending their reach to international waters with exports to the United States of America and Europe. By 1998, Riviera’s growth necessitated a larger workforce and facilities. With a team of 280, the company began constructing a state-of-the-art Coomera facility. The expansion of its facilities helped further propel Riviera Yachts into the new millennium with a renewed sense of purpose and innovation. In March 2012, Gold Coast developer Rodney Longhurst acquired Riviera Yachts and continued to evolve the yard’s offering, focusing on quality, creativity, and excellence. Under the joint leadership of Longhurst and Chief Executive Officer Wes Moxey, Riviera Yachts has continually evolved, refining its series. Today, Riviera Yachts is a testament to its 42-year legacy, with more than 5,800 yachts launched from its facility. The yard’s fleet consists of several types of semi-custom motor yachts, including Riviera’s Flybridge Series, Sport Yacht Series, SUV Series, Belize Daybridge Series and Belize Series.
